Open Data to improve Public Services
Scenario
Today all over the world cities have become home to more than half of the global population. Driving the vast majority of the world’s economic outputs, it comes as no surprise that cities are today’s greatest emission producers as they emit more than 70% of the world’s greenhouse gasses.
As the urban population keeps rising, creating the conditions for improving the quality of life while also maintaining a sustainable growth becomes an ever-pressing challenge.
In this context it has become increasingly clear that the principles of the Circular Economy will represent the new paradigm for sustainability. It is also important to notice that in recent years the amount of data available has increased dramatically and it now represents an important resource for innovation that can be leveraged in order to create new forms of sustainable innovation.
